Today's song of the day comes from alternative rock singer/songwriter Natalie Merchant, who after leaving her band 10,000 Maniacs, landed her first top ten pop hit with "Carnival", followed by a top-20 followup in "Wonder". The third and final single from the album would be "Jealousy", a midtempo adult rock rumination self-doubt written and produced by Natalie...
"Jealousy" became the third top-40 pop hit from Tigerlily (and her final official top-40 hit to date) in August of 1996. The song also made both the Adult Contemporary chart at #17, and the Adult Top-40 format at #5. Internationally, the single spent two weeks at #5 in Canada, and reached #40 in New Zealand.
