Today's song of the day comes from female rapper Da Brat (aka Shawntae Harris) who came from Chicago to score her debut hit and what would be her biggest success, "Funkdafied", which reached the American pop top ten in the summer of 1994. Her follow-up single would be the laid-back funk throwdown of "Fa All Y'All". Written by Da Brat and producer Jermaine Dupri over a sample of Zapp's "Heartbreaker", the record sounded much more "G-Funk" style than anything from the East Coast...
"Fa All Y'All" became Da Brat's second top-40 pop hit in the U.S. in December of 1994. The song also climbed to #18 on the R&B chart in Billboard magazine, while peaking at #5 on their Rap Singles chart. Internationally, the single
