"Doctor's Orders" was a club and radio hit for singer Carol Douglas, who hails from Brooklyn, New York. Appearing on her debut album The Carol Douglas Album, the song was a quick remake of a club and radio hit in the UK that same year for Sunny, who was one of the members of the Brotherhood of Man group (before they had won Eurovision). Sunny's version went top ten in Britain, while Carol's reached #11 on the pop Hot 100, and #9 on the R&B chart. But on the disco chart, which had just began in Billboard magazine as the "Disco Action" chart, the song spent a week at #2.
