Today's Song of the day is by jazz-pop duo Eye To Eye, who came together in 1980 by keyboardist Julian Marshall and singer Deborah Berg. Marshall, an Englishman, was in the pop duo Marshall Hain in the late 70s, and had a minor hit with "Dancing In The City". Marshall met dancer Berg in California, and recruited her for the Eye to Eye project. Their first album had a jazzy sheen and vague presence that sprung rumors that it was Steely Dan reuniting (not unfounded, as it was produced by SD producer Gary Katz, and Donald Fagen guested on a track. The initial single, "Nice Girls", made the top-40, and helped the album peak in the upper half of the LP chart...

Their next album gave them one other minor hit, "Lucky" in 1983, but that's been it for them chartwise (they issued an independent album in 2005).
