Brit Sweep: July 22, 2012...

Hey folks, thanks for dropping by, it's Sunday night, so that means time to check out the new singles making the chart in the United Kingdom this week. This week Florence + The Machine's "Spectrum (Say My Name)" holds onto the top for a second week.

There's no top-10 entries this week, as the highest debut is at #11. It belongs to Misha B. (B for Bryan), a singer/songwriter from Manchester. She was a contestant on Britain's X Factor, where she was the middle of a big brouhaha over accusations of her bullying other contestants. All aside, she scores her first hit with "Home Run"...

Singer Sirach Charles, who records under the moniker Angel, comes in at #20 with "Wonderful"...

At #48 is Australian dance act Pnau, who have the new #1 album this week, and their single "Sad", which features snippets of Elton John songs put to a dance beat...

American rap/pop hybrid Gym Class Heroes enter at #55 with their US top-40 hit "The Fighter", featuring OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder...

London singer Delilah (real name Paloma Stoeckler) has her 4th top-100 hit with "Inside My Love"...

Canadians Drake and the Weeknd (the former the rapper, the latter the DJ) jump into the top-100 at #64 with "Crew Love"...(NSFW)

An odd-lot entry at #71 is New York rap group Public Enemy, with a track from their 2007 album How You Sell Soul to Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul. Whew. Well, "Harder Than You Think" has been used on ads leading up to this years Paralympics on Channel 4, and the song sells enough to chart...

Dancehall star Sean Paul takes his "Hold On" single to #86....it's the followup to the UK #2 smash "She Doesn't Mind"...

 and finally, British teen folk singer Jake Bugg, who played Glastonbury last year, debuts at #90 with "Taste It", his third chart hit...
