This week's "robbed hit" is by flamboyant new-wave singer Adam Ant, who broke through to America in 1983 with his musical romp "Goody Two Shoes". Later that year he released his second "solo" album (without the Ants), with a new backing band from the first save collaborator Marco Pirroni. The first single from the set with the title track, the lascivious woman-baiting pop of "Strip", written by Adam and Marco...



"Strip" made it to just below the top-40, perhaps scaring off top-40 stations with the subject matter. It did the same in his native Britain as well. Adam would plod along for the rest of the decade until 1990 when he returned to the top-40 with the single "Room At The Top"...
