twostepcub's music chart for September 30, 2022...

Friday is here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. Harry Styles remains at #1 for a fourth week, while Aussie singer/songwriter Vance Joy (pictured above) climbs a notch in the top ten. Songs from Old Dominion, Elton John/Britney Spears, and Lizzo make the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Elton John/Dua Lipa, Kane Brown, Latto, and Justin Bieber drop off my chart. And under the list everything is Spotify playlisted for 5 1/2 hours of the biggest in pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance music. Half a banana!

There are eight songs making their debut on my chart this week (highlighted in blue), and if you click on any of them, you'll connect to that artist's official website. And here they are on video, after the break...

Claiming the top debut of the week at #81 is a song from this year's Eurovision Song Contest. No, not the song that won (the awesome "Stefania" by the Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine). Not the runner-up (though "Space Man" did appear on my chart for a while after the competition). No, it's the song that came in 20th out of 25 songs in the final - "Snap". Rosa Linn, from the country of Armenia, has seen her song become the breakout "viral" success of the entire contest as people who didn't even watch have been discovering it (thanks to the TikTok app).  It's hit the charts all over the world, and now is even getting decent American airplay, and I can't lie that I'm thrilled for her success...

Canadian neo-new wave group Metric add themselves to the list at #85 with "All Comes Crashing", from their eighth studio album Formentera...

Heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch check in at #87 with "Times Like These". It's the second song from their current album Afterlife to make my chart...

After 13 years of releasing music, metalcore group Motionless in White, from Scranton, Pennsylvania, finally make my top 100 at #90 with "Masterpiece", from their sixth release Scoring The End Of The World...

Dutch trance music veteran Armin Van Buuren, who first appeared on my chart way back in 2004 with "Burned With Desire", returns this time at #94 with singer Maia Wright on "One More Time"...

Loud Luxury, a Canadian EDM duo, team up with Swedish singer KIDDO at #97 for "These Nights"...

Brotherly indie-pop trio AJR are back at #99 with "I Won't"...

The final newbie of the week at #100 is singer Skye Holland and producer Steve Kroeger with their collaboration "Lie"...
