"Easy Lover" was a big radio and club hit for Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire with Phil Collins. Appearing on Bailey's album Chinese Wall, the song was written by the pair with bassist Nathan East. Collins originally produced the track which was remixed for the clubs by John Potoker. On Billboard magazine's Hot Dance/Disco chart, the single peaked at #7 in 1985, while rising to #2 on the pop Hot 100, #3 on the R&B Singles chart, and #5 on the Rock Radio list.
