Disco Dessert 9/6/22 - "Saturday" by Norma Jean...
"Saturday" was a club hit for singer Norma Jean (Wright), who had left the iconic disco band Chic for a solo career. Appearing on her debut (and only) studio album Norma Jean, the song was produced by Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, who co-wrote the track with Bobby Carter. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40, the Norma Jean album was listed as a single entry, with "Saturday", "Sorcerer", "Having A Party", and "I Like Love" listed as key DJ cuts. The record peaked at #10 in 1978.

Norma Jean's album included a disco remake of Sam Cooke's "Having A Party" which had Luther Vandross on backup vocals...
