twostepcub's music chart for March 11, 2022...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 "hit" tunes from the previous week. Lil Nas X climbs to #1, while country singer Parker McCollum (pictured above) leaps into the top ten.  Former big hits from the Lumineers, Years & Years/Galantis, Michael Ray, and Nita Strauss/David Draiman drop off my chart, while songs from Ed Sheeran/Taylor Swift, Lauren Spencer-Smith, and George Ezra make some of the biggest jumps (moves of 10+ positions highlighted in red). And under the list, everything is Spotify playlisted for five and a half hours of the biggest in pop, rock, R&B, country, and dance music. Happy St. Patrick's everyone!

The top debut of the week at #71 is claimed by alt-country singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile with the second song from her stellar In These Silent Days album to make my list, "Broken Horses"...

Indie-pop group Lucius arrive at #89 with "Next To Normal", from their upcoming set Second Nature...

British pop singer Charli XCX, who like Carlile recently performed on Saturday Night Live, rolls in at #92 with "Beg For You" featuring Rina Sawayama. The single interpolates the dance-pop oldie "Cry For You" by September...

Muni Long, aka Priscilla Renea, spent years writing hits for other artists like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and Pitbull, but now she's on my list for the first time with her top ten R&B hit "Hrs & Hrs" at #94...

Electronica duo ODESZA samples soul veteran Bettye LaVette's 1965 record "Let Me Down Easy" for the song at #96, "The Last Goodbye"...

The final newbie at #100 is from DJ/producer Diplo and neo-soul singer Miguel with "Don't Forget My Love"...
