Disco Dessert 3/18/22 - "State Farm" from Yazoo...

 

 

"State Farm" was a big club hit for the English synthpop duo Yazoo (Yaz in the U.S.). Appearing on the North American version of their second album You & Me Both, the song was written by Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet, and produced by the pair with Eric Radcliffe. On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Top 80 chart, "State Farm" was listed along with it's B-side "Nobody's Diary". The single spent three week's at #1 there in 1983, while "Nobody's Diary" climbed to #3 on the official British Singles chart.
