This week's "robbed hit" comes from R&B singer Elgin "Ginuwine" Lumpkin, whose sophomore album 100% Ginuwine had finally brought him back to the pop top-40 in the summer of 1999 with its third single "So Anxious". The fourth offering to radio from the set was "None Of Ur Friends Business", written by the singer with producer Tim "Timbaland" Mosley. A downtempo groove dissing his woman's friends who are spreading rumors, at least he's responsible enough to include the line "it's none of your friends' business as long as we protect ourselves and do it right". Ginuwine's future wife, rapper Sole', is featured in the music video, which has a pair of decent dance breaks...

While "None Of Ur Friends Business" climbed to #7 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart, the single stopped just north of the halfway point on the pop Hot 100 in June of 2000. He will return to the pop heights, though, with his two biggest singles yet.
