"The Gigolo" was a club and radio hit for singer O'Bryan (Burnette). Appearing on his debut album Doin' Alright, the song was written and produced by O'Bryan with Soul Train chief Don Cornelius. On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Top-80 chart, the single peaked at #62 in 1982. It also climbed to #5 on their R&B chart, and got to #57 on the pop Hot 100.
