Disco Dessert 11/4/21 - "Yé ké yé ké" by Mory Kante...

 

 

"Yé ké yé ké" was a club hit for Guinean singer Mory Kante. Appearing on his album Akwaba Beach, the song was written by Kante and produced by Nick Patrick. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single peaked at #19 in 1988. It also reached the top ten in France and Germany, and went to #29 in the UK. Sadly, Kante passed away in 2020.
