"Steppin' Out" was a radio and club hit for British rock/jazz artist Joe Jackson. Appearing on his album Night & Day, the song was  written by Jackson, who co-produced the track with David Kershenbaum. On Billboard magazine's Dance/Disco Top-80, the single peaked at #45 in 1982, while rising to #6 on the pop chart and America and the UK.
