"It Should Have Been Me" was a big club hit for house music singer Adeva. Appearing on her second album Love & Lust, the song was written by Norman Whitfield and William Stevenson, and produced by the Smack productiion group and remixed by the legendary Frankie Knuckles. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single spent two weeks at #1 in 1991.
