"You & I" was a big club and radio hit for the late funk great Rick James. Appearing on his debut album Come Get It!, the song was written by James, who produced the track with Art Stewart. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the single peaked at #3 in 1978. It also topped their R&B chart and went to #13 on the pop Hot 100 list.
