"Each Morning I Wake Up" was a club hit for R&B singer Major Harris. Appearing on his debut solo album My Way, the song was written and produced by Melvin and Mervin Steals. On Billboard magazine's Disco Action chart, the single peaked at #14 in 1974. It also popped on to their R&B chart at #98.
