"Dance and Shake Your Tambourine" was a club hit for the Universal Robot Band, a studio group put together by producers Leroy Burgess and Gregory Carmichael. Appearing on their debut album Dance and Shake Your Tambourine, the song was written and produced by Patrick Adams and Carmichael. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the single peaked at #25 in 1977. The track also appeared on their pop (#93) and R&B (#48) lists.
