Disco Dessert 10/1/21 - "When You're Young and In Love" by Ralph Carter...

 

 

"When You're Young And In Love" was a club hit for singer/actor Ralph Carter, best known for his role of Michael Evans the young brother on Good Times. Appearing on his sole album Young And In Love, the song was a disco remake of the top-40 hit from the Marvelettes in 1967 written by Van McCoy (who would become a big disco artist in his own right) and produced by Reid Whitelaw and Norman Bergen. On Record World magazine's Disco File Top-20 chart, the single peaked at #10 in 1975. It also climbed to #37 on Billboard magazine's R&B chart, and #95 on their pop Hot 100.
