"African Symphony" was a club hit for iconic orchestra conductor Henry Mancini. Appearing on his album Symphonic Soul, the instrumental was written by Van McCoy (of "The Hustle" fame) and produced by Joe Reisman. On Record World magazine's Disco File Top-20 chart, the single spent four weeks at #40 in 1975. It also climbed to #40 on Billboard magazine's Adult Contemporary radio chart.
