"By Your Side" was a club hit for jazz-soul singer and the band named for her Sade. Appearing on her album Lovers Rock, the song was written by Sade Adu with her bandmates Paul Denman, Andrew Hale, and Stewart Matthewman. On Billboard magazine's Dance Club Play chart, the single spent three weeks at #2 in 2001. The original version also climbed to #75 on the pop Hot 100  in America.
