Disco Dessert 7/8/20 - "Summertime" from MFSB...
"Summertime" was a club hit for the Philadelphia International Records house studio group MFSB (Mothers Fathers Sisters Brothers). A disco remake of the George Gershwin classic from 1935's Porgy and Bess musical, the single was produced by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and appeared on the band's fifth studio album Summertime. On Billboard magazine's National Disco Action Top-40 chart, the Summertime album charted as one entry, though "Summertime" wasn't listed as a key cut, but rather "Picnic In The Park" and "Summertime And I'm Feeling Mellow". The record peaked at #14 in 1976.
