Disco Dessert 7/17/20 - "Use It Up And Wear It Out" from Odyssey...

"Use It Up and Wear It Out" was a club hit for the American trio Odyssey, featuring Lillian and Louise Lopez along with Bill McEachern. Appearing on their album Hang Together, the song was written by L. Russell Brown (who wrote Tony Orlando and Dawn's "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree") and Sandy Linzer, with the latter producing the track. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100, the Hang Together album charted as a single entry, with "Hang Together", "Don't Tell Me, Tell Her", and "Use It Up And Wear It Out" listed as key cuts. The record went to #6 there in 1980, spending half a year (26 weeks) on the list. Although "Use It Up" never made the American pop or R&B chart, the single was a #1 hit in the UK.
