Disco Dessert 7/18/20 - "Searching" from Change....

"Searching" was a club hit for the Italian/America band Change, brought together by Jacques Petrus and led by Mauro Malavasi and featuring singers like Luther Vandross at the start. Appearing on their debut album The Glow Of Love, the song was written by Malavasi, singer Tanyaette Willoughby, Wayne Garfield, and Paul Slade, and featured Vandross on lead vocals. On Billboard magazine's Disco Top-100 chart, the Glow Of Love album charted as a single entry, with "A Lover's Holiday", "The Glow Of Love", and "Searching" singled out as key cuts. The record spent an amazing nine weeks at #1, only trailing Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' "Bad Luck" and the Thriller album from Michael Jackson (both at 11 weeks) for most time at #1 in the history of the list. The song also was their biggest hit in England, peaking just under the top ten at #11, and went to #23 on Billboard's R&B chart.
