Disco Dessert 7/7/20 - "A Date With The Rain" from Eddie Kendricks...

"Date With The Rain" was a pre-disco soul hit for former Temptations member Eddie Kendricks. Originally appearing on his 1972 album People...Hold On, the song was written and produced by Bobby Miller. In 1975, an extended disco version of the song was released to DJs. It never made any of the singles charts in Billboard magazine, but remains a club favorite of the early 1970s and a precursor of the genre to come.
