Disco Dessert 7/14/20 - "Gigi In Paradisco" from Dalida...

"Gigi In Paradisco" was a European club hit for Egyptian-born singer Dalida. Appearing on her album Dalida In Paradisco in 1980, the song was written by Michaele Lana and Paul Sebastian. It never reached any American charts, but the record was a big hit in Continental Europe, and was accompanied by a string of huge shows at Paris' Palais des Sports arena. A former Miss Egypt that moved to Italy then France, Dalida lived quite a tragic life, with many of her loves (and former husbands) committing suicide, which she did herself in 1987.
