"Savage Lover" was a club hit for the one-off disco act The Ring, a project of produce Marcus Barone. Appearing on the group's only album Savage Lover, the song was written by Barone with co-producer Fausto Lucigniani. On Billboard's Disco Top-80 chart, the song climbed to #14 in 1979.
