Disco Dessert 2/19/20 - "Standing Right Here" by Melba Moore...

"Standing Right Here" was a club hit for stage actress and singer Melba Moore. Appearing on her album A Portrait Of Melba on the Buddah record label, the song was written by the production team of Gene McFadden and John Whitehead along with Victor Carstarphen. On Billboard's National Disco Action chart, the song climbed to #53 in 1979. Coincidentally, another record of hers on her new home of Epic Records, "Pick Me Up, I'll Dance", debuted in the same week, but did a bit better, making it up to #22.
