twostepcub's music chart for October 18, 2019...

Friday's here, and it's time to run down my top 100 hit* songs from the previous week. Lizzo stays at #1 for a fourth week, while Sam Smith (pictured above) leaps into the top ten. Songs from Maroon 5, Green Day, and Illenium/Jon Bellion make the biggest jumps on the chart (moves of 10+ places highlighted in red), while former big hits from Jason Aldean, Hozier, Laverne Cox, Blake Shelton, Vampire Weekend, and Runaway June drop out. I hope YOU dance!

*hit song generally is a song that made the top ten on Billboard's Hot 100, top thirty on Adult Top-40, #1 on Adult Contemporary, top ten on the Rock Airplay, Mainstream Rock, Alternative, Triple-A Rock charts, #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay, top-five on the Adult R&B Airplay, top-20 on the adjusted Country Airplay chart, top-20 on the Dance Club Play list, top-10 on the Dance Airplay list, and top ten on the British singles and airplay charts.

Country crossover trio Lady Antebellum claim the top debut of the week at #78 with "What If I Never Get Over You". It's the first single from their upcoming eighth studio album Ocean...

Indonesian/French singer Anggun returns at #81 with her new club hit "Perfect World". It's her fourth song to make my chart dating back to 1997's "Snow On The Sahara"...

Albanian-born dance diva Bleona creeps in at #86 with her single "Monster". It's also her fourth trip on my chart...

Country bear Luke Combs arrives at #88 with "Even Though I'm Leaving", from his upcoming sophomore effort What You See Is What You Get...

Next Friday sees the release of country band Old Dominion's self-titled third release, and the second single from it, "One Man Band", marches in at #91...

Alternative country rocker Sturgill Simpson lands on my chart for the first time at #95 with his latest single, "Sing Along"...

DJ/producer Dave Matthias also scores his first hit on my list at #96 with "Madness & The Dark" featuring singer Makeba...

As music powerhouse Lizzo has been reigning on the charts with "Truth Hurts" (as it does on mine this week), there was talk of what could follow that hit up. Well, instead of any of the tracks on her current album Cuz I Love You, fans and radio have gone back to her song from her EP Coconut Oil called "Good As Hell". Consider it buzz from the MTV Video Music Awards, along with its a damn fine song (though it still give me feelings being the what was supposed to be triumphant live election day broadcast of the Full Frontal With Samantha Bee show in 2016)...

Indie-folk sister trio Joseph punch in at #98 with "Fighter", from their third album Good Luck, Kid...

The final newbie of the week belongs to pop singer/songwriter JOHN.k with his breakout adult-pop hit "If We Never Met"...
