"Trans-Europe Express" was a track from the German electronic band Kraftwerk. Appearing on their album Trans-Europe Express in 1977, the song was a pioneering moment in the new wave/electric music movement. Written by members Ralf Hütter and Emil Schult, the instrumental did not place on Billboard's Disco chart, but nevertheless was a worldwide club favorite. And most American knows it from being sampled on Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock".
