"Going Up In Smoke" was a club hit for the late soul singer and former member of the Motown giants the Temptations, Eddie Kendricks. Appearing on his album Goin' Up In Smoke, the song was written by Allan Felder and produced by Norman Harris. The album charted as a whole, with this song, "Music Man", "Born Again", and "Thanks For The Memories" singled out on the chart listing; it peaked at #11 on the Disco/Dance Tracks chart in Billboard magazine. The song on its own also peaked at #30 on the R&B chart as well.
