"Can You Handle It" was a club hit for New York-based disco singer Sharon Redd. Appearing on her album Sharon Redd, the song charted along with it's "B-side" "You Got My Love", and climbed to #5 on the Disco/Dance Tracks chart in Billboard magazine. It also made it to #57 on the R&B chart, and was a top-40 hit in the UK at #31. Sadly, Sharon died from complications from AIDS in 1992.
