"Dial My Heart" - The Boys
from the album Messages From The Boys (1988)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #13 (one week)
Weeks in the Top-40: 9

Today's song of the day comes from the R&B vocal group the Boys, who were four brothers from suburban Los Angeles that released their debut album in 1988. The first single from the Abdulsamad siblings, "Dial My Heart", was a bubbly slice of boy-band soul in the New Edition vein written and produced by the powerhouse duo of L.A. Reid and Babyface (along with usual collaborator Daryl Simmons), and took over where the NE boys left off though the Boys were only between nine and fifteen at the time...

"Dial My Heart" became the Boys' first big hit, reaching the top-20 on the American pop chart in February of 1988. The song also topped Billboard's R&B singles chart for a week the previous December. Remixes of the track helped the record climb to #18 on their Dance Club Play list as well. Internationally, the single was a minor hit in the UK at #61.
