Soul Sweep: December 22, 2012...
I'm back with today's third "chart sweep" of the newest songs making their way on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and this time out it's the latest on R&B radio...
On the R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart, Miguel's Grammy-nominated "Adorn" reigns for a fourteenth week...
The top debut at #44 is the collaboration between singer Omarion and rapper Wale on "M.I.A.". After leaving vocal boy-band B2K, Omarion has had two top-10 singles, with his featured role on Bow Wow's "Let Me Hold You" reaching the #2 spot. Meanwhile, Wale topped the chart last year with "Lotus Flower Bomb" (featuring #1 guy Miguel). The new song brings that latter song's dreaminess with a Drake-like delivery... (NSFW)

Sleighing in at #48 is singer/rapper/The Voice coach Cee-Lo Green with his holiday song "Mary Did You Know". The leader of the "Red" team's biggest R&B so far is "Fool For You" which went to #13. Thankfully, he treats this awesome song with the respect it deserves...
On the Adult R&B (Urban AC) chart, Miguel also is on top with "Adorn" for a sixth week, and the aforementioned "Mary Did You Know" is the top entry at #34...
The other debut surprisingly is another rapper, albeit veteran LL Cool J, with "Take It" featuring singer Joe at #40. It's Mr. Smith's second chart hit here - "We're Gonna Make It" featuring Mary Mary went to #39 in 2006...This is smooth enough, but how odd that this isn't on the MAIN R&B list yet?
That's a wrap for the soul side, I'll be back with the newest on the country wing of the house...
