Kraut Sweep: December 18, 2012
Welcome back, it's time for this week's sample of the newest songs making their way on to the official music sales charts in Germany. This week Rihanna hangs on to #1 for a seventh week with "Diamonds"...
The top entry this week is YouTube comedy troupe Y-Titty, with their novelty holiday hit "Fest Der Liebe" ("Feast Of Love") at #27. I'd compare them to Aussie's The Midnight Beast or The Key Of Awesome in the US. Their last single, "Der Letzle Sommer" ("The Last Summer") went to #15 here...

German rapper Kollegah, from the central city of Friedberg, comes in at #28 with "Dynamit" featuring Farid Bang from Dusseldorf...
Germanic rock back Frei Wild, who hail from the northern Italian city of Tyrol, land at #35 with "Unendliches Leben" ("Eternal Life"). They have reached the top-20 here twice this year so far..
Michael Lane, a finalist on the Voice Of Germany, comes in at #44 with his cover of Sarah McLachlan's "Angel"...
50 Cent jumps in at #52 with his new single "My Life" featuring Maroon 5's Adam Levine and rapper Eminem. He has so far taken two songs to #1 in Germany; his debut, "In Da Club", and "Candy Shop"...(NSFW)
British hip-hop musician Labrinth is at #65 with his recent #1 UK hit "Beneath Your Beautiful" featuring Emeli Sande'...
Singer Oceana, from the northern city of Wedel, debuts at #86 with "Say Sorry". She went to #5 earlier this year with "Endless Summer"...
Berlin rapper Sido comes in at #87 with "Bilder im Kopf" ("Mental Images"). In 2010 he went to #2 with "Der Himmel Soll Warten" ("The Sky To Wait")...
Another Voice Of Germany finalist who has been eliminated already, Jesper Jurgens, still comes on the chart at #91 with the song that sent him home, "Zuruck" ("Back")...
Italian music collective Caligola move into the top-100 at #95 with "I Want You". They took "Forgive Forget" to #1 earlier this year (one of my faves of the year)...
The man that Michael Lane defeated on The Voice of Germany, Gil Ofarim, sneaks in at #99 with his song from the show, Michael Jackson's "Man In The Mirror"...
The final new entry is by British singer Jay Sean, with "So High" at #100. In 2009 he went to #9 with "Down"...
That does it for tonight...I'll return tomorrow with another Song of the Day, Candletime, another 10 of the best of twostepcubchart of 2012, and my recap of Aussie's charts. Cheers!
