French Sweep: December 4, 2012...






It's time to cross the Atlantic again for this week's sample of the songs making their way on to the official music chart in France this week. Adele's "Skyfall" remains at #1 for a fourth week...

The top new song on the French singles chart this week is the first collaboration between Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am and X Factor judge/singer/crazy person Britney Spears, with "Scream & Shout" at #6. It follows his biggest solo hit so far, "This Is Love" which just went to #2, while Britney's topped the chart twice in France, with her debut "Baby One More Time" and 2008's "Womanizer"...

French rapper La Fouine, who hails from the Parisian environ city of Trappes, comes in at #16 with "J'avais Pas Les Mots" ("I Don't Have The Words"), which is only one rung below his biggest hit, "Tombe' Pour Elle" from 2007...



Rihanna's Unapologetic came out in France last week, and while the album debuted at #3 here, and five of it's tracks make it onto the top-selling songs list. First, her collaboration with French DJ/producer David Guetta, "Right Now", comes in at #35...


..as her duet with Chris Brown, "Nobody's Business", is one rung lower at #36...


Aussie rockers AC/DC released their catalog to iTunes, and they also score multiple debuts, as three of their songs make their first week on the top-100 chart in France. At #43 is "Hell's Bells" from their Back In Black album...


 ..while "Thunderstruck" from their 1990 set The Razor's Edge is at #45...


Rihanna's "Stay", featuring Mikky Ekko, arrives at #53. This will be her second single after "Diamonds" in the US..


 The last "new" AC/DC is "Back In Black" at #58...by the way the band's biggest hit in France is 1993's "Big Gun", which went to #14...


Israeli-born Parisian singer Tal enters at #60 with "Rien N'est Parfait" ("Nothing Is Perfect"). Her biggest hit so far has been the #4 single "La Sens De La Vie" (which even made my own personal chart). I'm a big fan of hers...



Rihanna's "Half Of Me" arrives at #70...


Spanish DJ Jose' De Rico and Dominican singer Henry Mendez pair up at #73 with "Te Fuiste". It follows their #4 smash here, "Rayos De Sol"...


French singer/songwrtier Jean-Jacques Goldman just had a tribute album released with versions of his songs, and it's the new #1 album here. One of the songs, performed by all of the acts under the moniker "Collegiale", "Famille", comes in at #78...


French alt-rockers M83 are at #79 with their EP Hurry Up, We're Dreaming...


Another track from the #1 Generation Goldman tribute CD, Leslie & Ivyrise's "Je Te Donne" ("I Give You"), pops in at #82..


Parisian singer Amel Bent jumps in at #91 with "Comme Toi" ("With You"). She topped the French pop chart in 2005 with "Ma Philosophie"...(the new song isn't viewable in the US, but if you're in France you can see it here)...

David Guetta and Swedish duo Taped Rai are at #92 with "Just One Last Time"...


The final Rihanna track at #95 is "Love Without Tragedy/Mother Mary"...


The last debut on the top-100 at #96 is "La-Bas" ("There"), by Marie-Mai and Baptiste Giabiconi from the Generation Goldman collection...
