Aussie Sweep: December 5, 2012...


This week on the official music songs sales chart in Australia, my jam "Thrift Shop" by American rapper Macklemore and collaborator Ryan Lewis climbs into the #1 position for the first week....

Third-place finishers in Australia's X Factor, manufactured boyband The Collective, enjoy the top debut this week at #6 with "Surrender". During their run the guys landed eight songs on the country's top-100 sellers, with their take on Jessie J's "Domino" making the top-40 at #35...

Another X Factor singer, this time Britain's runner-up-gone-good Olly Murs, comes in at #19 with "Troublemaker", featuring American rapper Flo Rida. It's Olly's first top-40 hit Down Under - his "Dance With Me Tonight" was his previous best at #62...


Black Eyed Peas leader will.i.am recruits American X Factor judge Britney Spears for his latest at #32, "Scream & Shout". It follows his first top-10 hit in this country, "This Is Love". Britney's also topped the singles chart in Australia five times...


X Factor second place finisher Jason Owen jumps in at #47 with his debut single, "Make It Last"..


The train of X Factor doesn't end as British season-8 winners Little Mix debut at #60 with "DNA", following their top-3 showing of "Wings"...


Oddly, the top entry that isn't connected to any country's X Factor is another prefab boyband, this time Brits the Wanted, with "I Fould You" at #89. So far they've had two single make the top-20 here, with "Chasing The Sun" placing at #18...


The final debut of the week belongs at Swedish DJ/producer Otto Knows, with his first hit "A Million Voices" at #92....
