Dance Sweep: October 13, 2012...

Hey gang, it's time to bring out the last of today's "chart sweeps" of the new songs making their way on to the weekly music charts at Billboard magazine, and this time out it's the newest dance jams in the clubs and on the radio...

On the DJ-polled Hot Dance Club Play chart, Nicki Minaj scores her first #1 hit as a lead artist with "Pound The Alarm". She has two #1 featured credits...

The top new entry at #48 is by Canadian musician John O'Regan, who records under the monker of Diamond Rings, with his first hit, "I'm Just Me", and it's just sublime...

The next entry at #49 is a rather interesting concoction. The song is called "Good Morning To The Night", and it's made of snippets of various Elton John songs like "Philadelphia Freedom" and "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", mixed together in one big mashup by Australian electronica act Pnau. Elton has only made the dance chart six times before, with 2004's rework of his oldie "Are You Ready For Love" topping the chart...

And at #50 is German trance DJ Paul Van Dyk, who had went to #3 here in 2007 with "White Lies". His latest, "I Don't Deserve You", features singer Plumb, who had a #1 dance hit in 2009 with "Hang On"...

Meanwhile over on the radio-monitored Dance Airplay/Mixshow chart, Zedd's "Spectrum" hangs on for a second week, and there are no new songs here...

...and finally on the Global Dance Tracks chart, David Guetta leaps from #6 to #1 with his latest with Sia, "She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)"...

Debuting at #37 is American R&B singer Ne-Yo, with his latest, "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)". His collaboration with Calvin Harris, "Let's Go", just went to #2 this summer on this list...

The other new track is DJ/producer Richard Vission with singer Luciana on "When It Feels This Good". They previously paired on "I Like That", which made this chart in 2010...

That wraps it up for tonight...thanks so much for stopping by, and tomorrow I'll bring you another "song of the day", Candletime, the first half of this week's new records on "Album Sweep", and the newest in the UK on "Brit Sweep". Goodnight!
