Robbed Hit of the Week 10/22/12 - Glenn Frey's "All Those Lies"...
Glenn Frey - "All Those Lies"
from the album No Fun Aloud (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #41
This week's "robbed hit" is by Eagles frontman Glenn Frey, who's debut solo album, the underrated No Fun Aloud, scored him a couple of top-40 hits with "I Found Somebody" and "The One You Love". For his third single, he released the smooth and slick "All Those Lies", a jazzy number about a paranoid lover that reminds me of "The Sad Cafe" from the Eagles' (then) swan song The Long Run....
The song peaked right under the American top-40 at #41 for three weeks, but it did manage to go to #28 on the adult-contemporary (soft-rock) chart. By Glenn's next record his image would be completely changed - for better or worse - with some weightlifting and Miami Vice.
