Pop Sweep: June 23, 2012...

It's time to take a look at the new songs making their way onto Billboard magazine's Hot 100 and Adult Pop singles charts this week.

The Hot 100's highest debut for the second week in a row comes from Justin Bieber, as another preview track from his upcoming CD Believe, which drops next Tuesday, comes in at #22. Just like his breakthough hit, "Baby", Justin gets a little help from rapper Ludacris on "All Around The World"...

There is another song debuting all the way in the top-40 - the second one is be Lil' Wayne, setting the stage for the release of I Am Not A Human Being 2, and featuring Big Sean, at #38 it's "My Homies Still"...

Now for a completely different direction, making an entrance all the way up at #51 is country vocal quartet Little Big Town, with their newest single, "Pontoon", apparently selling like hotcakes, because it's not even in the top-30 on country radio yet...

Atlanta-based rapper Waka Flocka Flame had a major hit single in 2010 with "No Hands", and he's back with "Get Low" at #72, featuring big hitters Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and Flo Rida, and he's veered a little off the droney rap track to add some rap-dance influence from Minaj and Flo...

Three modern rock hits make their appearance on the big chart, and at #90, the first is the Lumineers with "Ho Hey", which right now is being heard on Bing commercials...

At #93 are Vegas rockers Imagine Dragons with their top-10 modern rock hit "It's Time"...

And the current Alternative #1, Black Keys' "Gold On The Ceiling", comes on the Hot 100 at #97...

and at the bottom rung #100 is country husband and wife duo Thompson Square with their third hit on the big chart, the country top-20 "Glass"...

Meanwhile, on the Adult Pop chart, there are two new songs. The first, San Franciscans Train's followup to their current top-10 "Drive By", arrives all the way up at #31, "50 Ways To Say Goodbye" (where have I heard this title before, hmmmmm)...

The other entry, at #40, is Canadian frat-rockers Theory Of A Deadman, with the harder than usual for this chart's "Hurricane"...
