"Save and Spend" was a one-off single for singer and actress Cheryl Barnes, who is best known for her role of Hud's fiance in the movie version of Hair, who sang the tearjerking "Easy To Be Hard" in the film. That song went to # 64 on the American charts, but "Save And Spend", written by John Footman and Judy Wieder, failed to make any notable pop or dance charts when it was released in 1978, but remains a DJ cult favorite.
