Disco Dessert 9/15/19 - "Thinking Of You" from Sister Sledge...

"Thinking Of You" was an track from the familial female vocal group Sister Sledge's classic album We Are Family. Originally released in 1979, the song wasn't even released as a proper single, though it served as the "B-Side" to third release "Lost In Music" in Britain. In 1983, the song got new life as it was released to assuage their bad fortunes of their regular album that year. In reward, the song climbed to #11 on the British singles chart, though still never making the dance list in America. Ten years later, a re-release with new mixes climbed to #17. Despite its modest return "Thinking Of You" remains in my list of my favorite songs of all time top ten, not bad for a disco album cut that almost didn't see radio airplay.

As a bonus, here's the RAMP remix from 1993 that brought it back on the charts...

And finally, a remix from Dimitri from Paris that placed on the group's producer Nile Rodgers' box set...
