"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" was a big radio and club hit for the British new wave-ish group Tears For Fears. Appearing on their album Songs From The Big Chair, the song was written by the band's Roland Orzabal and Ian Stanley along with producer Chris Hughes. On Billboard magazine's Hot Dance/Disco Club Play chart, the single spent two weeks at #1 in 1985, as well as topping the pop and rock charts here as well.
