Robbed Hit of the Week 11/5/12 - America's "Right Before Your Eyes"...

America - "Right Before Your Eyes"
from the album View From The Ground (1982)
Billboard Hot 100 peak: #45

This week's "robbed hit" is by the soft-rock group America, who scored their first top-10 hit in seven years with their "comeback" single "You Can Do Magic" in 1982. The followup, "Right Before Your Eyes", is a precious ballad written by Canadian singer (and brother of SCTV Dave) Ian Thomas, who had a top-40 single in 1973 with "Painted Ladies"....

The song just missed the top-40, peaking at #45, while doing much better on adult-contemporary radio, making it all the way to #16.

..and here's the songwriter himself performing the song..

That's it for tonight....tomorrow I'll bring you another Song of the Day, candletime, and my recaps of the charts in France and Germany...Cheers!
