Album Sweep: December 1, 2012 - Part Two...

I'm back with the second half of this week's "album sweep" sampling the records making the Top 200 Albums chart in Billboard magazine for their first time. You can check out part one by clicking here, and as always I've included when possible links to go buy anything you see. Support the artists!

Coming in at #49 is a Starbucks exclusive holiday compilation CD Under The Mistletoe, which includes performances by veterans like Johnny Mathis and Ella Fitzgerald as well as newcomers like Tracey Thorn and Sara Bareilles...

At #50 is Psycho White, a collaborative EP from Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and rapper Yelawolf. Both artists had top-40 albums released last year...(NSFW)

Scranton, Pennsylvania-based metal band Motionless In White's sophomore effort, Infamous, dives in at #53...(major NSFW)

Indie-folk singer Sufjan Stevens' winter set, Silver & Gold, chimes in at #70. It's his second CD of holiday songs - the first came in 2006. His last album, The Age Of Adz, made the top-10 in 2010...This new set is a compilation of his last 6 EPs of Christmas music, including this disturbing one...

..and while we're talking about something disturbing, at #81 is John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John with This Christmas. Travolta hasn't had a non-soundtrack album on the chart since 1978..

Metalcore band the Issues see their first EP Black Diamonds arrive at #96...

Christian metal group Disciple debut at #98 with their ninth album O God Save Us All...

Texas alt-country rockers The Departed is at #133 with Adventus...

The budget title The Greatest Of Baroque by the London Symphony Orchestra benefits from $1.99 pricing as the 2000 title jumps in at #143...

Progressive bluegrass act the Punch Brothers are one rung below that at #144 with their 5-song EP Ahoy!. It's their third #1 on the bluegrass album chart, and their third on the big one...

Folkie Crowder pops in at #172 with the exclusive iTunes Session...

Gospel singer and American Idol finalist Mandisa is at #178 with It's Christmas: Christmas Angel Edition, a re-released and revised version of her 2008 holiday set that didn't make the top 200 then...

There are two holiday albums from the Chipmunks on the chart this week; as Chipmunks Christmas jumps up at #131, another budget set, Christmas With The Chipmunks from 2007 makes its first stop on the top-200 list at #186...

Elvis Presley puts yet another album on the chart as Elvis: Prince From Another Planet: As Recorded At Madison Square Garden, a CD/DVD set, arrives at #187...

The last entry on the chart is by indie-pop band from Missouri named Never Shout Never with their album Indigo....

That does it for the second half of the new stuff...out of these 15 the three I would recommend the most are the Never Shout Never, Punch Brothers, and Elvis sets.

I'll return tonight with this week's "robbed hit"...
