Today's Song of the Day is by Florida-bred rocker Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, who released their fifth album, Long After Dark, in 1982. The first single from the set, the sparse, countrified "You Got Lucky", made the top-20 at the end of the year.
The followup single, "Change Of Heart", written by Petty and produced by him and Jimmy Iovine, was much more upbeat in tone, but still as scathing in his lyrics...

"Change Of Heart" peaked just one rung below its predecessor, and made the top-10 on the rock radio chart.
