Country Sweep: November 24, 2012...

It's time for the fourth installment of today's five-part "chart sweeps" of the latest songs making it on to the weekly music charts in Billboard magazine, and this time it's the latest on country radio (since the regular "country songs" chart sucks major ass)...

On the Top Country Airplay chart, Luke Bryan lands a fifth #1 (and the third from his latest album) with "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye"...

The top entry is by Toby Keith, whose title song from his latest album Hope On The Rocks is at #50. He's had twenty #1 hits on the country chart - four in the 90s, fifteen in the "naughties", and one single chart-topper in this decade ("Made In America"). Maybe if he wasn't so contrived now he'd be doing better...

Jerrod Niemann's new album Free The Music is one of my faves of the year so far, and the second single from the set, "Only God Could Love You More", comes in at #53.  His "Lover, Lover" made #1 in 2010...

Carrie Underwood follows up her thirteenth #1 hit, "Blown Away" with "Two Black Cadillacs" at #55...

Newcomer Dustin Lynch's debut single, "Cowboys And Angels", made it to #2, and his second, "She Cranks My Tractor", drives in at #57...

Country bad boys Montgomery Gentry are back at #58 with "I'll Keep The Kids". They've topped the chart five times, the last with "Roll With Me" in 2008...

The final new song this week is another country duo, Love and Theft, with "Runnin' Out Of Air" at #60. Their "Angel Eyes" topped the list last year...

That covers the country side of things...I'll return to wrap things up at 6:30 with the latest dance songs in the clubs and on the radio. Twang on!
