Brit Sweep: November 4, 2012...

Hey gang, the weekend is coming to a close, and it's time for my recap of the newest songs making their way on to the official music singles chart this week.

The top-selling song this week is by Robbie Williams, who parlayed his stint in the 90s boyband Take That to a huge solo career in Britain, scoring six previous #1 hits (the last being "Radio" in 2004).  Robbie gets his seventh with "Candy", his best song in years, and co-written by Robbie with Take That bandmate Gary Barlow..

At #92 is UK X Factor winner Matt Cardle with his version of Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face".

The final debut in the UK top-100 is from the second-biggest selling album in England this week, Kylie Minogue's The Abbey Road Sessions. It's a new track, "Flower", which what originally a cut song from one of her previous albums. Kylie has topped the British chart seven times, the last in 2003 with "Slow"...

That closes out this sweep...thanks for stopping by, and I'll be back tomorrow with another Song of the Day, candletime, part two of this week's album recap, and this week's "robbed hit". Cheers!
