"Black Betty" was a club and radio hit for the rock band Ram Jam. Originally appearing on their 1977 album Ram Jam, the song went to #18 on Billboard magazine's Hot 100 pop chart back then. In 1989, the track, a remake of a traditional blues number popularized by Huddle "Leadbelly" Ledbetter, was given a dance remix by Ben Liebrand. The resulting single peaked at #13 on the Dance Club Play chart in 1990.
